Bill, John and Rick drifted with me in 15-20 mph NW winds and a barometric pressure of 1024 millibars today. The bite was tough as I expected, but we managed to still have a decent day.

A few mullet, slicks and some color changes helped us box 9 trout and 3 redfish, but it was hard not to think about would could have been. The soft bite was the culprit for us losing at least 13 decent trout, a few reds and 2 flounder. We also landed 7 throwback trout, reds and a flounder. I don't remember hooking, fighting and losing that many fish but it was probably about this time last year. It was still a good day in tough conditions with a great group of guys.

All of our fish were caught on a variety of soft plastics in 5 to 7 feet of water over mud and scattered shell.
