The last week of May and the first week of June gave us more windy days than calm ones, but we managed to make the best of the circumstances by putting some nice boxes together. We're catching pretty easy limits on the calmer days and releasing quite a few trout over 5 pounds. I cancelled a couple of days because of SW winds gusting to 25 knots, but had to fish in a couple of corporate tournaments despite poor conditions on some of the windy days. Red Shad Tidal Surge Split Tail Mullets and Red Shad Bass Assassin Sea Shads worked well on the dirty water days while the brighter colors like Limetreuse and Glow got it done when the water was green. Working slicks over shell in 5 to 8 feet of water was the ticket as usual.
Bill Gilliam with some nice trout on a very windy day. He took 4th place in the Pasadena Police Tournament while I placed 3rd. We needed our redfish, but couldn't get 'em that day.
Another windy day's catch.
